Closure of Woolworths benefits local store
Volunteers from the Shop at Strood Green went on a shopping trip to Woolworths in Redhill and managed to pick up some nearly new shelving units, weighing scales and some rather battered but useful baskets in the closing down sale.
By saving money in this way, they can afford to spend some of the budget on more expensive items such as air conditioning and software packages for stock control.
We look forward to an exciting 2009 with plenty of hard work ahead but with the opening in March, a rewarding time too.
Many congratulations to Alix Smith who has won the £200 prize in the Grand Christmas Draw, what a great way to end the year!
We are pleased to say the refurbishment is on schedule and really transforming the shop into an up to date place fit for the purpose. The back room has been incorporated into the shop and will make a big difference to the space.
