Amazon, or the many excellent charity shops.
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 26th 8pm.
Twopence to cross the Mersey Helen Forrester 1974
A moving autobiography, no self pity; the eldest girl is
kept away from school from 12 years on, to look after her siblings
and allow her parents to seek work in poverty stricken Liverpool in
the 1930s.
Sunday October 24th, 8pm.
The Invisible Girl by Peter Barham 2006, a moving biography of
his daughter Debbie Barham, who died from anorexia. She was a great
comedy writer for Rory Bremner, Clive Anderson, Drop The Dead
Donkey and much more.
We tend to have fairly short books and plenty of time to get
them.
We hope you will come and tell us about your favourites.
The Village Club also has an excellent recycling book
shelf
where you can leave good books you no longer need and/or
take some home. You can pass them on or return them, no
charge.
