Local Boy Wins Gold!
On Saturday, 14th February, Robert Saxby travelled to Guildford to take part in the Surrey Regional Swimming Championships. He competed for Dorking Swimming Club in the 9 year old boys, 200m Backstroke event.
He was competing against 22 other 9 year old boys from swimming clubs all across Surrey.
The race went very well although he worried his coaches on the first 50m because he appeared to be taking it rather too easy. However, he completed his race in 3:09.50 which was enough to earn him first place - just under 0.3 seconds ahead of second place!
