Thanks to every one who supported us on Sunday 28th June 2009.
We had a great safe village day with people being sponsored to ride
in this fun ride. Thanks to those who gave up their time to help
set up, advertise and photograph the event.

Special thanks to www.brockham.org

Thanks to Anne Hogarth of The Avenue for being on the Green at
8am to erect the Gazebo on a hot and sunny day, then registering
riders, getting them under starter's orders, issuing certificates
and encouraging her family to participate. Anne nominated the NSPCC
to her former employers, Barclays Bank who will very generously
match the funds we raised.

So far we have raised £414.56 with some unspecified
sponsorships to follow. Much of this will have 28% gift aid added.
The final figure we hope to be about £1,000. This will enable
250 distressed kids call and get help from Childline which at
present cannot answer all it's calls. Many calls are very urgent
and serious such as a 12 yr old having taken a serious overdose in
the middle of the night. This is part of a national event, search
NSPCC for other events; anyone can organise a ride, even just for
their own friends and family.
Brock's Chocs
Three very smartly dressed, enterprising village children
around12 years old sold delicious home made chocolate apples,
bunnies, chicks and bars outside the Spar. They spent 3 weeks
making the chocolates.

When they work out their profits they will donate the proceeds
to the Bike Ride. They plan to be at the Spa on alternate Sundays
for the summer. For further information contact the manager Miles
Cresswell via The Spar; also Alistair Miles and Danesh Amin.
THE RIDERS
The youngest riders were infants being pulled along in bike
trailers. We had 38 adult riders and 30 under 18's. For the forth
consecutive year the Tuesday night (village club) boys supported
the event with a welcome stop for refreshments at The Dolphin!
