Village Weekend a Great Success
Thanks once again to the organisers of this years Village
Weekend.

The entertainment started on Friday with Rubens fair where
kids young and old experienced the thrill of the chair-o-planes,
the running horses and copious amounts of candy floss!

Saturday afternoon saw dance demonstrations by Steps and a kick
boxing team to mention but a few. There were stalls set
up on the Green helping local groups and charities with their
fundraising.
As the evening approached villagers brought out their barbeques,
moderate amounts of alcoholic beverage, gazebos and fold up chairs
to create a warm friendly atmosphere as only Brockham can.
The winner of the Poshest Picnic was Tom Mahoney. The balloon
arch was an amazing site, entertainment was provided by three local
bands who served us proud.

The evening was rounded off by a breath taking firework display
provided by the Brockham bonfire boys and girls.

All over the weekend local artists showed their talents in the
chapel with many paintings available for sale.

Sunday was host to the Dog Show. And for the first time a Duck
Race in aid of Brockham Green Nursery.

1000 little ducks were raced as well as 12 very large ducks. All
were sponsored by local people & companies. Over £1500 was
raised which is a fantastic result and all proceeds go to keep
Brockham Nursery running.

1st place of the 1000 Ducks No 486 - Is a
little boy called Jacob Streeter who starts going Brockham Nursery
for the first time in September.

1st Place - Big duck winner - Whites & Sons Estate
agents.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped organise this wonderful
weekend.
Well done Brockham!
