Work Complete On Elizabeth Bailey Field
Improvement works are now complete on the Elizabeth Bailey field
in Strood Green.

Stage one saw the installation of new play equipment and safety
matting.
The new improved equipment has proved to be very popular with
younger children.
Later in the year the rest of the field was ploughed up, the top
soil removed, drainage pipes installed and top soil put back.

The ground has been levelled and seeded to provide a well
drained and level play field. Previously the ground was water
logged and unsuitable for play in the winter months. The drainage
works were carried out using a grant from Mole Valley District
Council.

The pond has been improved with the edges being made shallow to
encourage wildlife. The field is a great asset and enjoyed by
residents both young and old.
A summer BBQ is planned for later in the year with profits used
to fund further improvements.
